A Day in the Life in Beijing!
Wake up. American-style residence hall makes adjusting easy. Warm shower, bowl of cornflakes and milk, short walk to school. Captivating professor. Study class notes in quiet XiangShan Park. Sip oolong tea near residence hall. Or work full-time alongside co-workers in your internship. Register for weekend taichi class. Sweet! Dinner with Panroamers at Sansu Restaurant of fried duck, white rice and steamed vegetables. Check out Beijing Film Fest. This city’s packed with people, but there’s a niche for me.
Beijing is the political capital of China and home to 20 million people. That’s like 2 ½ New York Cities! It is home to the Communist party and major politics of the country. It's much like Washington DC with a lot of government buildings, museums and historical monuments.
With a city this large there is much to see and do. There are many museums, historical buildings (think Forbidden City), and unique parts of town like Sanlitun for popular bars and international stores, 798 District for the art and hipster community (yes, there are hipster communists), and Olympic Village.
