Program Policies

When you enroll in a Panrimo program, you agree to the following policies:

Arrival Guidelines

Airfare costs and means of transportation to the host city is up to the student. Airport pick-up and drop-off at host city’s airport by a Panrimo coordinator of host university staff member is automatically provided by Panrimo. Please review when to arrive at the host city airport for Panrimo airport pickup.

Housing Policies

Housing is included in your Panrimo program. Housing in the host country is decided by Panrimo and/or host university. The main focus is safety, followed by cleanliness, location to host university, and cost, among other aspects.

Housing placement is contingent on full payment of program invoice and agreement of housing rules. Some accommodations require deposit in case of damage, returned to the student after review of accommodations at the end of the program. Students may change housing after placement as been made, either before or after arrival, for a fee. All students are required to vacate housing no later than 12 PM, host country time, on the last day of the program. Student who do not vacate on or before then will be assessed a daily fee by Panrimo or host university.

Rules and regulations vary on host country and housing provider, and students must adhere to these rules and regulations. All students must sign a housing contract on or before arriving to accommodations abroad. The contract includes, but is not limited to, conduct and behavior rules, curfew times if applicable, admitting guests in, security, damages, and utility charges if applicable. If damage is found after students vacate, the student forfeits the housing deposit.

Panrimo staff will not assist students in finding independent housing outside of Panrimo’s offerings at any time. Extensive damage to accommodations may result in immediate dismissal of Panrimo Program, and all payments will be forfeited.

Passport and Visa

A valid passport is required for travel on all Panrimo Programs. Often stays over 90 days in host countries require a visa. If this is the case, a visa is required by Panrimo in order to go abroad. Assistance in applying for a visa is offered by Panrimo. Once abroad it is recommended students carry with them at all times a copy of their passport and visa (if applicable).

Code of Conduct

You, the student, are the participant. Whether it’s for a day, week, month, or year, time in a country not your own presents situations the participant are not used to. To properly prepare for these situations–and daily life abroad–you are responsible for learning and understanding important issues related to the safety, political, cultural, and religious conditions in the host country. You must adhere to local and country laws and law enforcement, the academic principles, faculty, and staff of the host institution, and discipline and restitution guidelines set forth by Panrimo.

When Panrimo receives your application and enrolls you, you agree to all of Panrimo’s policies. These policies and program details may change. It’s your responsibility to stay updated on these policies and information.

Responsibility

A participant who goes overseas needs to act responsibly. The best way to having a safe trip is to be responsible. The participant is held responsible for charges of all kinds due to damage caused by him/her, and will be billed for the damage or destruction immediately. The charge will be due immediately, or expulsion from Panrimo Program will occur.

Safety

In order for a study abroad experience to be safe, the participant needs to act in a responsible and cautious manner. It’s important for participants to be aware of their surroundings. Life abroad can be challenging, scary, stressful, and tiring. Enrolling in a Panrimo Program means the participant agrees to the Code of Conduct and understands the possible difficulties that will be felt emotionally and physically.

Drugs and Alcohol

There is to be no illicit drug use. Any illegal activity will be cause for a non-refundable dismissal from Panrimo’s program. Any alcohol consumption should be in a safe and responsible manner. Not only is it dangerous to consume high quantities of alcohol, it can also lead to irresponsible behavior.

Academics

All of Panrimo’s partner institutions require attendance. Excessive absence from your classes will result in either a failing grade, or dismissal from the class. Your courses and grades do count, so go to class and enjoy the city and country in the afternoons and on the weekends.

Arrival Guidelines

Airfare costs and means of transportation to the host city is up to the participant. Airport pickup at host city’s airport by a Panrimo coordinator of host university staff member is an optional service for most programs. Please review when to arrive at the host city airport if using Panrimo airport pickup. If this option is not chosen, the participant is responsible for his/her own transportation to accommodations.
